Ramy Beauty Therapy Makeup Review

Celebrity makeup artist and critically-acclaimed “Brow King,” Ramy Gafni, proudly rolls out his “Fall in Love” Makeup Collection for fall 2011, this line is a re-release of his classic fall favorites. The collection highlights this upcoming season’s most beautiful, rich colors and promises that you will fall for these products. This palette includes vivid and luminous shades, while conserving the unmistakable feeling of calmness, serenity and glamour of the season.

RAMY beauty therapy makeup is formulated with anti-oxidant vitamins, avocado oil and sunscreens. They are high quality products that live by the Ramy philosophy of "Minimum Makeup Maximum Impact!" The entire product line was created to work well with any skin tone, from the lightest to the darkest complexions and to be used for a variety of looks from the most glamorous to the most wearable everyday look.

I was given the entire "Classic Fall in Love" Fall 2011 collection to review. This collection includes:

Neutral Impact! Eye ShadowThe eyes have it with Ramy's silky-smooth eye shadow, the only eye shadow you need this Fall! Ramy Beauty takes the guesswork out of selecting the ideal eye shadow for your skin tone with this smooth-textured, universal hue. Neutral Impact makes a big statement in a matte, sable taupe shade.

Blush in Alive!—One of a kind, long-wearing color. Micronized and silicone treated for extremely smooth application. This blush literally seems to bring skin to life with its perfect blend of pink, gold and brown color. Great for sweeping over eyes to really make eye color pop! A great alternative for women who are not inclined to wear eye shadows. Simply sweep over eyes with blush brush for a finished, polished look

Lipstick in Ramy Red!—Ramy’s signature formula is loaded with avocado oil, vitamin E, and sunscreen to help nourish and protect your lips while delivering dynamic color and guaranteed to bring a beautiful, moisturized finish to any lip. Ramy Red! is a universally flattering shade of red sure to create moist, full, healthy lips.

Lipstick in Thrive!—Luscious lips look even yummier in a sensuous shade. Perk   up your pucker with the creamy, brown- based burgundy-plum hue. Your lips will never be as sultry as with Ramy’s special seasonal lipstick. With a flawless hold, Thrive! is a must for the plumped, sensual look.

OMG! Over Mascara Glitter & LinerMakes Your Eyes Look Magical! OMG! is the first of its kind with it’s revolutionary 2-in-1 mascara wand and eye liner applicator. Created to work in perfect harmony, the wand and liner make the glitter application easy-to-use for the makeup beginner or the makeup junkie. As an added bonus, the unique, 3-dimensional holographic shimmer creates the perfect come hither, glitterazzi look. The formula is moisturizing, quick-drying, and non-irritating to ensure a smooth and smudge-free application. And because it’s water-based, it’s safe to use on eyebrows, hair and lips.

This was my first experience with Ramy beauty therapy cosmetics and I was very impressed with this collection. The eye shadow color worked perfectly with my complexion giving my eyes subtle color with a light shimmer. The blush was nice as far as giving a little glow to your cheeks, it did not give much color but more of a dewiness that I tend to like. I love the lipstick in Ramy Red, perfect for a night out. It also goes on very smoothly and the color lasts a long time. The mascara glitter & liner is great. I have a favorite eyeshadow that I wear if I am going out at night that has glitter in it. I love wearing it but it is yellow so sometimes it just doesn't work. OMG! Over Mascara Glitter & Liner is my absolute favorite product from this collection. The glitter is silvery sparkles that give your eyes a really nice pop. It is a  2-in-1 mascara wand and eye liner applicator so at the end of the mascara brush is the liner tip. Be careful when you are applying the mascara I poked my eyes twice and I am pretty much a mascara pro, I wear it all the time. The mascara brush is very spiky which makes it perfect for covering up all your lashes but it took me awhile to get use to applying it. The liner itself goes on great and the pointed tip makes it very easy to apply a straight line. All in all I loved these cosmetics but they are a little pricier then what I usually spend on these items.

Neutral Impact! Eye Shadow! Price:  $17.00
Lipstick in Whine! and Lipstick in Thrive! Price:  $17.00
Alive! Blush Price:  $19.00
OMG!  Price:$24.00

If you are looking for good quality makeup then you probably won't have any problem paying these amounts. You can purchase Ramy beauty therapy cosmetics online and in and Duane Reade ‘Look Boutiques’ nationwide.

Mother-ease Review and Giveaway

CLOSED
Winner- #57
My son Grayson is 7 months old now and I have been using cloth diapers for the last six months. I think that they're great for the environment and they are a great money saver. The down fall has been that at night my son seems to wet a lot and I have had to go back to disposal diapers which I really would rather not. It really defeats the purpose of having cloth diapers. So when my friend introduced me to the Mother-ease website I was excited to try their product.
Mother-ease diapers were created by a mother in 1983 who wanted a better cloth diaper. Better than the traditional flat, rectangular cloth diapers, which need to be folded and pinned, along with the plastic pant which went over top to keep his clothes dry. That's when she created breathable All In One cloth diaper. With an exclusive side ventilation system, it combines an outer waterproof cover with an inner absorbent cotton material. Plastic snaps make cloth diapering easy and it fits a baby’s bottom snugly.

Mother-ease soon discovered a need for a cloth diaper for heavy wetters. They designed their Sandy’s™ cloth diaper and appropriately named it Sandy after their son. With a snug fit it is shaped to fit a baby’s contours, but is of a heavier construction and snaps shut at the sides. The diaper comes in two sizes. In order to make it waterproof, this cloth diaper requires a separate cover.

Sandy's Systems

I tried the Sandy’s™ cloth diapers which comes in two main sizes: Small (8-20 lbs.) and Large (20-35 lbs.) They also offer Newborn and Toddle-ease cloth diapers which offer a custom fit for newborns and toddlers. These cloth diapers are made from our same soft stretchy terry cloth using the same quality of workmanship, but they have an extra layer of absorbent terry sewn to the inside of the diaper. The fit of the cloth diaper is slightly roomier. Elastic at the waist front and back as well as the leg openings, together with the snap closures at the sides create a clean pant-like look. A surged edge finishes the diaper. Our large Sandy’s™ cloth diaper is one of the most absorbent cloth diapers ever, and holds 15 oz. When used together with our Sandy’s™ Cloth Diaper Liners it makes an extravagant nighttime cloth diaper.

I also added the leak-free cloth diaper cover that refuses to compromise breathability. The Air Flow™ Snap Cover, with adjustable snaps at the waist and leg opening has an air ventilation system between the snaps. This allows for maximum air circulation as the baby moves, reducing the risk of bacteria by keeping the temperature in side the diaper down.
The first time I put the diaper on I thought it was a little bulky even for a cloth diaper but it worked. I have been using the diaper at night since. Grayson is now sleeping better and I am too. It's a great diaper for heavy wetters at night. I will be buying a few more so that I don't have to wash it everyday.
Check out Mother-ease to see what other diapers they have to offer.

Frequent Flyer Hair Tips and Rahua Haircare Review

There is still a few more weeks until summer is officially ended and many of you probably still have some travel plans to enjoy. Want to learn how to arrive at your vacation spot looking fully refreshed and without airplane hair? Seasoned traveler, beauty guru and founder of Rahua (pronounced Ra-Wa) Haircare, Fabian Lliguin would like to provide a few simple tips for a chic landing.

  1. Prior to take-off use a deep cleanser and wash your face thoroughly. Top off with a light     tinted moisturizer to keep skin looking fresh and provide light coverage.
  2. Get your hair blown out with extra body and waves before flight. During flight put your hair     up and secure in place with a spiral pin. After you land let hair loose, apply Rahua Voluminous Spray all over, shake your hair run fingers through and be ready to impress.
  3. Keep skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water and avoiding dehydrating salty foods, fizzy drinks and alcohol.
  4. Keep a great humidity tamer, like Rahua Conditioner on hand  to smooth out any frizz along the way.
  5. To arrive fresh-faced, right before landing apply a light foundation, cream shimmer above cheekbones and finish with an herbal water mist to set and give a refreshed glow. Add a pop of color with a tinted lip balm or stain.
For centuries, women from the Quechua-Shuar tribes have traveled deep into the Amazon rainforest to prepare a highly potent, restorative oil they call Rahua (ra-wa) – believing it to be the secret to their thick, flowing, lustrous hair. In the 1990s, these women shared Rahua’s power with renowned New York stylist and colorist Fabian Lliguin, a native Ecuadorian of Quechua descent.

Rahua hair care products pride themselves on being "free". Sulfate free, synthetic paraben and fragrance free, propylene glycol free, dimethicone free, imidazolidinyl free and free from all questionable ingredients. 100% natural, organic and vegan.

I was given samples of Rahua's Shampoo and Conditioner for review. The first thing I do when I open a new shampoo is smell it. Unfortunately the scent of this shampoo is very light and what little fragrance I did smell was a little too herbal for me. That being said the luxuriousness of this shampoo/conditioner totally makes up for it. The shampoo has a very thin almost watery like consistently so initially I was not very impressed but once i started rubbing the shampoo into my hair it lathered up really well and felt extremely soft. I followed up with the conditioner and it left my hair feeling very silky as I ran my fingers through it. After drying my hair as I usually do, my hair felt clean, weightless and full of body. I have to tell you this shampoo and conditioner is so much better then the one I have been using. The negative part is it's a little pricey. $32.00 for a 9.2 oz of shampoo and $34.00 for the conditioner. Ouch! If you are used to paying these kinds of prices for hair care then I would definitely recommend you trying Rahua's high quality products. They can be purchased online  or in several retail and beauty salons worldwide.

Happy Birthday to Me... in 3 days

Did you know August is National Romance Month? It is also the month I was born. That's right August 16th I will be celebrating my birthday...alone. Chris will be at work and I will be at  home  fantasizing about the perfect relaxing day. What would this day entail? Well, I will start off waking up fully rested after sleeping in and roll over to find what else but breakfast in bed made by my loving husband and sweet daughter. Waffles! Made with my new KRUPS Belgian Waffle Maker. I want one of these. *hint hint*

After breakfast I will snuggle up, still in my jammies, and enjoy a good book while sipping on a Summer Kiss.

1 shot Schnapps, peach
Fill glass halfway with VOGA Pinot Grigio Sparkling
Fill the rest with cranberry Juice
Add a few ice cubes

Eventually sometime in the afternoon I will roll out of bed and walk into a spotless bathroom that has a warm and beautifully scented LUSH bubble bath awaiting me. Aaahhh! Once I am done soaking I will get dressed, in a clean pair of pajamas and head upstairs to the dining room and find a fancy meal of steak and lobster on my table that has been adorned with candles and this gorgeous orchid from Organic Bouquet.

Dinner will be followed by my favorite dessert Creme Brulee. Mmm. After which I will skip downstairs and jump into a freshly made bed and finish up my book.

OK OK, in reality I plan to celebrate with my little girl and a big ice cream sundae but if any of you feel like gifting me with a bottle of wine, a new kitchen appliance or a pretty bouquet of flowers feel free.
