MyColdFront Review and Giveaway

Earlier this year I received a package for review with a product originally intended for women suffering from hot flashes. I’m in my early 30s, not near menopause, but I was curious to see what the MyColdFront kit could do for me. I found out early last month its use for pain relief.

A few months ago my migraines returned after years without them. The doctor’s guess at what causes them. My most recent migraine came on quick and with extra strength, one of the worst ones in years (not counting the 3 day migraine when I was in my 20s). It was difficult to drive home and when I did get home safe I hit the sofa and stayed there trying not to move at all. My sweet daughter turned off all the lights, handed me some pills and took care of the rest. Trying to fall asleep to dull the pain I was desperate for any quick pain relief until the pills kicked in and that’s when I remembered I had MyColdFront.

I had yet to put MyColdFront in the freezer, or really use this product as I hadn’t had an incident to, but loved the feel of the gel packs in my hand and decided to apply the two smaller packs to my head and the larger one to the top of the back of my neck. There is certain impatience and somewhat panic that accompanies an intense migraine, as the pounding pain is so overwhelming that it becomes worse unless you find a way to relax. The cold gels MyColdFront packs helped me relax, to calm down and take deep breaths as I felt their coolness against my skin. Eventually, I fell asleep.

Then a few weeks ago I used MyColdFront again on a nasty bump to my shin (stupid coffee table) without it having it been frozen in days. Still my shin instantly felt so much better. I think using it also helped reduce the bruising.

I found daily freezing the gel packs too much for me to remember to do. Besides the gel packs felt just as good to me for use without the freezing, but frozen they are much better than a hard frozen ice pack to an ache.

The zippered hardy case the gel packs come in, not much larger than the case for sunglasses is too large for my super small black purse, but I’m one of the few women I know who carries tiny purses. However, in many of the big purses I see my sisters and friends using, this case can fit right in with ease. I only wish one was made for my size purse.

  3. I would love this for my mom. She has a lot of different medical issues and is always getting hot when nobody else does, and I think it would help her relax and feel better...esp. when we're at home.
