Glysonna Review and Giveaway

Closed
Winner #2

I often have a hard time falling asleep at night. Even though I am exhausted and want to sleep my body just tosses and turns in my bed, it can be very frustrating. I usually end up turning on Netflix and staying up until  1am watching shows only to have to wake up at 6 in the morning to get ready to take my daughter to school. Needless to say that is not enough sleep and my body lets me know that. I am not sure why I have such a hard time falling asleep but my mom has the same problem. Prescription sleeping meds are not an option for me, I once took a sleeping pull only to have a very bad reaction to it, I am talking hallucinating clowns bad, I thought I was going crazy. It was the worst experience and I have not tried another sleeping pill since. When I first learned about Glysonna I have to admit I was a little leery about it, I kept thinking back to that night I had a sleeping pill induced acid trip. Not cool! However Glysonna is a drug free sleep aid that is all natural and contains eight active ingredients – Glycine, L-Theanine, JuJube Extract, Phenibut, Hops Extract, Passion Flower Extract, Cinnamon Extract and Melatonin – and seven wellness ingredients – Vitamin D, Vitamin B6, Zinc, Selenium, Niacin and Magnesium. It does not contain ingredients such as antihistamines, alcohol, tryptophan and 5HTP, ingredients that are potentially harmful and found in other sleep aid products. So I decided to give it a try...

What was my experience with Glysonna like? First of all this sleep-aid is in liquid form rather then your typical sleeping pill. It comes with a small measuring cup so you drink the correct amount each time. It is very tasty, it tastes like cold apple cider. The directions say to drink it no later then 30 minutes before you plan to lay down for bed. It also says to make sure you have at least 8 hours that you can commit to sleep. I drank my little shot of sleep juice and immediately laid down in bed, it was about 9pm. Within 15 minutes I was starting to feel a little drowsy and this was after taking a nap earlier in the day. By 9:30 I was out. My dog Timber woke me up a few hours later to be let out and I stumbled to the back door to let him out. I immediately fell back to sleep as soon as my head hit my pillow. I slept peacefully and dream free the rest of the night and woke up at 9am. 9 in the morning! I never wake up this late and it is a good thing that I decided to try Glysonna on a Friday night otherwise I think Penelope would have been late for school. If you decide to try this product be sure to heed the warning about allowing yourself at least 8 hours of sleep. When I did finally wake up I was not groggy and felt well rested and the best thing of all, it did not make me feel like I was on drugs. I wouldn't use this product all the time but I might try it again when I want to get a good nights rest.

According to their website:

Glysonna is suitable for anyone who is over the age of 14 and is not also pregnant or lactating. Glysonna has successfully helped individuals suffering from long-term issues such as sleep apnea, insomnia and PTSD in addition to short-term difficulties with sleep such as anxiety or surgery.
In some cases doctors recommend Glysonna as a first-response option for acute insomnia or a drug substitute to treat chronic insomnia. It may also be considered a non-respiratory depressant, non-drug sleep aid to be used in conjunction with PAP therapy.

My daughter is a girly girl. She loves dressing up and playing with her dolls, she especially loves dressing her dolls. When I learned about Doll Clothes Superstore and their enormous selection of doll clothes I knew my daughter would delight in shopping for her little friend. She chose to shop for her doll named Fancy Girl. I sat her in front of my computer and she perused over causal dresses, party dresses, beachwear, costumes and much more. She finally decided Fancy needed something sporty so she chose this Cheerleader outfit.

All of Doll Clothes Superstore items are hand made. They have apparel for a variety of dolls like American Girl, Our Generation My Twin dolls, Cabbage Patch Kids, Barbie and Ken and even some stuffed animals. They also have matching girl and doll outfit's!

Spoonful of Comfort Review and Giveaway

Closed
Winner #32

When I was first invited to review Spoonful of Comfort I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I assumed it was just another gift basket company. I decided to do a little research before I received my review sample and checked out their website. I immediately learned that Spoonful of Comfort is more then just "gift basket's". In fact the story behind the company is quite touching. What is more comforting then a nice bowl of homemade chicken soup? Spoonful of Comfort provides thoughtful gifts that make great "thinking of you", "get well soon", "because I love you" care packages. Each package is filled with their signature chicken soup as well as delicious homemade cookies and rolls. In addition depending on which package you choose to gift someone, they also include items like hot cocoa, cozy socks and even a warm fuzzy blanket to name a few.

I was sent their most popular Well Wishes package for review. I was beyond impressed when I opened up my packaged gift.

Each item was presented in a lovely box. I especially loved the way the soup ladle and soup were presented. I was so eager to try everything, it all looked so tasty. Then I had a thought...my neighbor and friends husband had just been involved in a motorcycle accident. He had been at home recovering with a severe leg break and from what my friend told me he was pretty down about the whole thing. Why not put Spoonful of Comfort to the test? I immediately walked over the my neighbors and presented him with this gift. I let him know that I had received it for review but that when I opened the package I thought about him and thought it would bring him some comfort during his recovery. Both my friend and her husband were equally impressed with this gift as well. I left feeling pretty good about my decision to let them review this product for me. Within 10 minutes I received a phone call letting me know that these were the best oatmeal cookies he had ever eaten in his life. Wow! I have to admit I was a little bummed I didn't sneak one for myself when I heard this. The next day I got another phone call thanking me for the delicious chicken soup and rolls, my neighbors were beyond grateful.

Don't forget Mother's Day is just around the corner!

I love this company and I will definitely be purchasing from them in the future.

The generous people at Spoonful of Comfort would like to offer one Girly Girl reader the same Well Wishes package I received.

Milani Limited Edition Rose Powder Blush Review

Milani is a leading brand of cosmetics that carries every product you will need for your makeup arsenal. With Milani products your eyes, face, lips, and even nails will get the look you want. They provide trend setting colors for women of all ages, skin tone, and personality and are constantly adding to their line. They also have limited edition items that you won't want to miss. For instance the entire month of March Milani has been showcasing their Limited Edition Rose Powder Blush at Walgreen's stores nationwide.

A luxurious matte powder blush that features rose petals micro-milled into the powder to bring out the natural rosy tones. This blush is multi-purpose: use to shape, contour, and highlight your face. It is easy to use and streak-free. Suitable for all skin types and tones.

This Rose Powder Blush comes in four colors and is priced at only $7.99. I received one of these lovely blushes for review and was immediately impressed. The quality and packaging is top of the line. The pressed powder blush is almost too pretty in its compact to use. I was sent Coral Cove for review and tested it out on my cheeks. It was very light and blended well. Unfortunately coral is not my color, but the beauty of Milani cosmetics is that they create a variety of colors for all skin tones. I decided to pass this along to my mom who has a lighter complexion and she loved it. It looks very natural and leaves a nice subtle color and glow.

There is still time to get your hands on these limited edition blushes via your local Walgreen's and online. Be sure to like Milani on Facebook so you can stay up to date on the latest cosmetic arrivals.

VEMMA Review

Vitamin's, Essential Minerals, Mangosteen and Aloe. That is what Vemma Nutrition Company's products are all about. Their beverages are cap full of anti-oxidants from superfruit mangosteen (you can learn all about it here), 12 full-spectrum vitamins, plant-sourced minerals, organic aloe vera and organic green tea.  Designed to give your body the essentials needed to form a solid nutritional foundation.

The full line of Vemma products include;

VEMMA Original
VEMMA Verve a full line of energy drinks
VEMMA  Bod● Ä“ a nutritional line of meal replacement shakes and supplements endorsed by celebrity
trainer, Chris Powell.
VEMMA NEXT a  nutritional 2oz beverage for children ages 2-12 years old
VEMMA Renew their newest healthy beverage

I was given VEMMA original, VEMMA Renew, and VEMMA NEXT for review. I tried the VEMMA first. I love that it is a small 2oz. bottle that you can drink up quick. I drank my VEMMA "shot" in the mornings. These were like a burst of energy and I enjoyed the taste, sweet and citrus-y but with a bit of bitterness at the end. The VEMMA Renew came in 8.3 fl oz. cans. These are non carbonated and caffeine free and taste even better then the original. They almost taste like peach and I love peach flavored things. They also do not have any of the bitterness of the latter. These do contain organic cane sugar and stevia. They are only 45 calories per can and they also contain plant sourced silica known to maintain healthy skin, hair and nails. The VEMMA NEXT is meant for children ages 2-12 years old. They come in small 2oz. bottles as well as large 32oz. bottles. I was only sent one of the 2oz. bottles for review so instead of giving it to my daughter Penelope I decided to try it so I could let you know what I thought. These had the same sweet citrus taste as the original formula but without the bitterness. I have no doubt that Penelope would drink these up. All of these beverages are best served cold and are a great way to get the nutrients your body needs to look and feel healthy.

You can purchase Vemma products online.

Alvita Tea Review

I am pretty sure I have mentioned this here before but I am a tea drinker. I love tea! I like it iced and I like it hot. I like a cup of refreshing Green tea and I like a nice hot cup of relaxing Chamomile. I like some English Breakfast with milk and sugar as well as some Mint with lemon and honey. I especially love to find and taste new types and flavors of tea. Several months back I was given the opportunity to try a couple of  Alvita teas by Twinlab.

Alvita teas are made with the finest herbs, herbs that have been selected for their health benefits and medicinal properties. They have a variety of teas to choose from like Echinacea which is said to help support a healthy immune system and fight colds and Licorice Root which is used to support respiratory health. I was sent their Ginger Peppermint herbal tea and their Passionflower herbal tea.

I have had ginger tea and I have had peppermint tea but I had never had them together. It is delicious! I love how it smells, the spicy scent of ginger and the refreshing scent of peppermint. Both of these herbs are supposed to help settle an upset stomach and other digestive issues so it is a great tea to have on hand in your medicine cabinet or pantry. It also tastes really good iced.

This was my first time trying passionflower tea. I expected it to have more of a floral scent and taste but it was a little more smoky and earthy. Passionflower is supposed to ease nervousness and restlessness and help you get a good nights sleep. I have been enjoying this tea in the evenings and it always makes me feel calm and relaxed.

You can find out more about Alvita's teas on their website and can purchase them via Twinlab or in several stores nationwide.
