Weighing Heavy on My Heart
If you know me you know that I'm a very real person. I am honest and I am fair. However a recent "issue" at Girly Girl Giveaways (GGG) has me reeling with both sadness and anger. I will not go into great depth or specifics but I do want to say this situation has pierced my heart and had me question continuing GGG it it became a circus of greed.
I have been accused and threatened, told I am unethical when everything I do for and on this blog is as fair as fair can be. In the midst of so many fraudulent, dishonest blogs I try to present factual information and be honest about everything.
Basically someone was asked to relinquish their prize by the company as they had won from the same company on another blog. The company wanted to give everyone a fair chance to try their product instead of issuing two gifts to one winner. I chose a new winner and contacted them before I even knew this was going to become a huge issue or that the company and I would be threatened. But because of this reader's fit they got the prize and the new winner I had chosen got nothing.
This angers me beyond anything you can imagine. And I will not and cannot condone greed and selfishness at GGG. I do have to say that the new winner I had chosen, who did NOT end up with the prize, handled the news with such decorum and understanding that it made me want to cry! I felt SO badly for them!
GGG will remain open and stronger than ever before! It gives me so much joy and pleasure to choose a winner and spring my "YOU WON" message on them to brighten their day. The greed that darkened my doorway a few days ago has made me mull things over about GGG. You will see a NEW Disclosure Policy in the next post when I am able to get to it (it's almost 3:00AM right now because I am so angry about this situation I cannot sleep).
And I also want to define a few things for everyone so we're all on the same page-
I am a REVIEWER, a consumer just like you. I am not affiliated with ANY company unless otherwise notified. It is the sole discretion of the company offering a free gift to accept a winner and to ship a prize to the winner I randomly select. I write a review, post the giveaway and select a winner. That is it. That is where my responsibility ends. Once the sponsor has your information it is their responsibility to fulfill their obligation and get the prize to you. I am absolutely fine with helping you get prizes that never show up but I will not be made the spokesperson for a company I am not affiliated with, an employee of or as an unpaid representative.
I run this blog for free and spend many hours on it to find prizes for all of you. I LOVE getting to do that! But I can only be responsible for my own review and the facts contained therein. Everything else the responsibility of the company sponsoring the giveaway and if they decide you can only win one prize from them take it like a lady (or gentleman) and move on. Give someone else a chance! The sponsors have the right of refusal if they deem it necessary.
And now I urge every one of you to go and tell all of your favorite bloggers how much you appreciate their hard work and dedication in bringing you prizes. In the sea of gems there is always a bad apple or two that tries to ruin it for everyone else. So I'm sure other reviewers have had their fair share of problems. Let them know they are valued! Send them an E-Hug or a lovely thank you!
Okay my vent is over. I feel a little better.
♥
And for the record to the one who asked. Here is the definition of a sweepstake
"...a lottery in which the stakes of the participants constitute the prize."
That means everyone adds money or something of value to a pot and if you win you get the pot. Blog-hosted giveaways are NOT sweepstakes. No one gives anything of value to gain entry to win the sum of the stakes. All prizes given by sponsors are gifts (even the US governments calls them gifts; check your tax form next year).

Giveaway- Mud and Twig
If you love Etsy then you'll love Mud & Twig. This uber cute Etsy shop has a mixture of fun products, all handmade. Here is a little message from the owner and creator:
"My name is Amber & I'm *nearly* 31 years old. I've been making things all my short little life. I dabble a bit in whatever I can get my hands on & if I don't know how to do it yet I plan to soon! I remember learning how to operate my great grandmother's sewing machine when I was 6 or 7 years old. The first thing I decided to make was a dust cover for our VCR. Because it was useful :) I found a scrap of rose-covered fabric & made myself a pattern. Ugly as it was, it was still keeping the VCR dust-free when I moved out at 18.
I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I discovered Etsy! After a couple years of buying & developing crushes on Etsy, I finally got up the courage to open my own shop, Mud & Twig, just a few months ago. Most everything I make for my shop was born as a gift for someone close to me. I find inspiration in the individuality of my friends & family and the beauty of nature. My lip butter, however, began as a gift to myself! When we bought our first home & I met our lovely beekeeper neighbor, I was compelled to create my own beeswax lip balm. I had been so unsatisfied with the brands I was trying. I wanted something with minimal, simple ingredients. My love for the benefits of coconut oil on my skin and appreciation for the honey bee launched me into production! It took a few tries, but I now have a formula I love & I'll never go back!"
I ordered a Skull Onesie from Amber and she sent along a stick of her homemade lip butter. Everything she makes screams quality. She is so very talented!
The onesie is really cute. I got this for my newest niece who will be born around Christmas. Amber uses high quality onesies and uses her handmade screen to screen print each individual onesie. Let your baby rock out in this onesie! I am too excited to get the pictures of my little niece in this onesie and I think I'm going to have to go back and pick one up for my baby!!! I love skulls!
The lip butter was lightly flavored (Vanilla Mint) and keeps my lips moist and soft. I recently learned that she makes her lip butter with her neighbor's organically cared-for bees' wax. It does NOT get anymore handmade than that! She also tries to use as few ingredients as possible which matches my philosophy that we need to be careful what we put in and on our bodies. I love how clean and chic and professional the lip butter looks with the pretty labeling and the oval-shaped tube. This is definitely something I could envision at a quaint, shabby chic boutique!
I also think the lip butters would make fabulous girly favors for a bridal party or just a girls night out goodie bag! I love Girly Girl Goodies!!!

Giveaway- Right on the Walls
CLOSED
Winner- #32 Ashley
Winner- #32 Ashley
At Right on the Walls you can find a huge selection of vinyl wall art and vinyl decals. This family-owned company designs and manufactures every piece per your specifications. I love family-owned and personal businesses because it means personal interaction!
The thought of putting vinyl on your walls or windows may be a little intimidating to you but I want to reassure you how incredibly easy it is to apply... and to remove!
You can get those cute sticky family decals for your car HERE!
For my review I selected a MYSTERY PACK from the Bargain Bin. I wanted to see what would be included in the Mystery Pack (I chose Girl Pack) for the price which is $22 per pack.
I was definitely NOT disappointed! I didn't really know what to expect. Because it was a mystery I didn't get to choose colors or phrases. I got a completely random pack based on the theme. I got 6 different pieces in varying sizes such as "It's Not Easy Being a Princess... But hey... if the Crown Fits!!!" as seen toward the end of THIS page and the "Sweet Dreams * Sleep Tight * We Love You * Good Night" as seen toward the end of THIS page.
I chose to put the BE YOURSELF and the HEARTS we received (which I couldn't find on the site so they might be discontinued) to put in our playroom! I had a painting taped to the wall that my daughter had done and moved to another wall. Here is a BEFORE (the walls are purple, not grey):
And the AFTER:
If you're hesitant about getting a mystery pack I highly recommend it! Everything we got was something useful and super cute. As for applying the vinyl it was so so so simple. I followed the easy-to-follow instructions, peeled off the backing and carefully applied it to the wall. The result was a beautiful painted mural on the wall without the mess or time wasted. It took me less than five minutes from start to finish and my cleanup was a breeze. I just threw the leftover paper in the recycle bin!
WIN IT:
One lucky reader is going to win an electronic gift card for $40 from Right on the Walls!

Miche Bag
You may have seen the infomercials or may have seen the ads on a website. Have you ever wondered, "Are Miche bags really all they're cracked up to be? Is it worth it? Are they made with quality materials?"
Miche creates and sells designer handbags at such affordable prices you'll be astounded!
I just received a Miche bag to review so I think I'm going to be able to answer some of your questions! And by the end of this post you may have added a Miche to your Christmas wish list. And psssst... these are created by women and for women!
What is Miche? It is a standard, plain base bag on the inside... but has credit card safe magnets sewn inside so you can change the outer shell of your bag to fit your style or your mood! I cannot believe that no one has thought of this before! A bag that can transform into something totally different by simply slipping off one shell and replacing it with a new one.
Yes, you heard me! You don't have to dump everything out of your bag into a new one. You don't have to fill your closet with oodles of bags that take up all your room. Instead you can have ONE bag and many different shells to change the look of your bag.
So you may start off your week with a more chic, clean look like this gorgeous Erica shell...
...and end the week up with the playful, retro Ashley
I received one standard base and two shells. The shells I received where Chloe and Hayley. The Chloe is actually more of an orange than a yellow. These shells are SO much prettier in real life. They are durable and do not look or feel cheap. The creators take great care to find affordable but quality materials so you get a designer-style bag that is functional and fits any budget!
How did they stand up to the testing? The magnets are incredibly strong. My shells do not slip off. In fact they are also designed to hug the base of the bag. I get compliments and women crowding around me to check out this bag EVERY SINGLE TIME I go out. They want to know where to get one and how it works!
Here is a view of the inside of the small base (which is not small but a standard size purse):
The base is stiff and sturdy, which I love. It fits everything I need perfectly. There are stretchy pockets on one side and a zippered pocket on the other. The best feature of the stiff base is that you can get a slouchy shell (slouch bags are so in right now) but without your bag deflating the moment you set it down. Everyone I know that has a slouchy-style bag looses everything in those because they collapse on themselves! Well no longer with Miche! Get the look and keep your bag organized!
Did I mention you can also change the handles on it? Check out the Accessories section of the website to see the handles you can switch out on your bag so your bag matches perfectly all around.
So the next time you want to spend $30 or more on a bag just get a new shell for your Miche! Save yourself some closet space by laying your shells flat on a shelf or drawer.
Finally I want to point out that you can host your own Miche Home Party so you can see the bags for yourself and earn prizes! Use the Store Locator to find local retailers who sell Miche in their stores.

Giveaway- Bravado
CLOSED
Winner #1 - The Bradley Family
Winner #1 - The Bradley Family
Oh how we have been waiting and waiting for this giveaway! If you are a pregnant or nursing mom you may have heard of Bravado. This retailer creates the most comfortable and practical nursing bras for the pregnant and nursing mother.
I was sent the NEW Bliss Nursing Bra in the color Chai to test out for you! Because I am a nursing mother I am going to be able to give you a detailed review of my experience using Bliss (which I'm wearing this very moment!).
I'm a highly sensitive person. If something is too tight or doesn't feel right I'm incredibly uncomfortable. But if I could LIVE in this bra I would! I sleep in it, I go through my day in it, wear it working out... This is the greatest must-have for the pregnant and nursing woman.
Instead of giving you all the bra details (which you can read on the website) I just want to tell you about my experience. The bra is comfortable; it has four rows of hooks so you can adjust accordingly as you go through different phases of nursing. The biggest pro about the bra is that it is made for t-shirts. The frilly, lacy and gorgeous lingerie-type bras are fun but they're not very practical when it comes to going out to run errands. So while I love having those bras I also LOVE having a t-shirt bra that I can wear with anything.
Other bras I have used while nursing become too tight when my milk comes in and you can see my chest trying to burst through my bra right through my shirt. So embarrassing! I haven't had that issue with this bra. The cup fits me perfectly whether I am engorged or "deflated" for lack of better word because the cups stretch to conform to you.
Sublime- definitely on my wish list!
The clasps are super easy to undo and redo; I can do it all with one hand. And the bra just gives the best support and lift which is really important for overall breast health. Another thing I love about the bra is the back support. Some of my bras are really high on the back or cover almost my entire upper back which is NOT cool when I want to wear a shirt that reveals part of my upper back. The Bliss Nursing Bra instead supports you from the front and around your sides (goodbye back bulge!) but without reaching all the way up to the back of your neck!
Overall the experience has been absolutely amazing. This is not my first encounter with Bravado and I haven't had a single complaint yet. All the forums are abuzz about Bravado's nursing bras; it is the must-have bra for comfort, practicality, support and breastfeeding!
WIN IT:
One super lucky reader is going to be randomly selected to receive a Bliss Nursing Bra from Bravado, a $54 value!

Five Question Friday and Blog Hopping
I'm trying out a new blog hop and would love for all of you to join along! Everyone loves to answer questions about themselves so I found this to be a unique bloghop in the midst of all the hops out there!
Simply answer five questions, publish your post and add it to the linky at My Little Life:

Simply answer five questions, publish your post and add it to the linky at My Little Life:

1. Do you feel guilty spending money on yourself?
No, not really. I work full-time (as a mommy and making jewelry for my Etsy shops) and do almost everything around our house without getting paid a dime. I think the only time I feel guilty is if I spend something and end up realizing later that I should have used it toward something else.
2. How well do you know your neighbors?
I know their names...? Okay the people across the street live in apartments and they are mostly foreign (don't speak English) so they come and go so quickly. The people next door are just plain weird. Ha ha! I'm sure they think the same about us.
3. What age are you looking forward to being?
Good question! I have no idea. I'm 25 now but I keep hearing that 30 is the Prime Time of life so we'll see when I get there!
4. Do you get excited when the mail comes? Why?
I'm a product reviewer; so YES! I also order a lot online for my Etsy businesses (see My Etsy tab above to see my hand-stamped jewelry bliss)! I literally check out the window all day even though the mail comes at the same time everyday... you know JUST in case it comes early!
5. What is your earliest childhood memory?
I have short clips of foggy memories... like one of my older brother taking forever in the bathroom while I danced outside the bathroom door and eventually peed my pants... other memories of me playing outside by myself, singing to myself. I was a very imaginative and expressive child. I was always in some fantasy world! *ahem* Okay so I still live like that today but I'm a lot better at it! That is why your dear product reviewer here at GGG can be such a space cadet at times.
