The MedCenter System Review

Originally when I first learned about the MedCenter System I thought it would be the perfect tool for my stepdad to help manage his medication. He takes several pills for several different health ailments. Each pill has it's own dosage requirements, he has to remember which pills to take at what times and what days. It can all get a little confusing and hard to remember especially during busy days. I don't know how many times I have been over my parents house and my dad not remembering whether or not he had taken his pill. Upon reading about the MedCenter System I was sure this would alleviate this problem and the stress that comes with it. Little did I know that in fact I would be the one using the MedCenter System.  In the last few months I have been going through some health issues that have caused me to be on bed rest. Doctors found I had developed several blood clots due to some health procedures I had done. Then in November I had major surgery and shortly after developed another blood clot with this one being the most serious. I was immediately put on blood thinners. For those of you who may not know, when you are being treated with blood thinners it is very important that your blood is monitored by a doctor on a regular basis. You don't what your blood to get too thin and you don't want it to be too thick either. I was giving blood thinners in several different dosage amounts and take them according to doctors orders. Since I have to go in and have my blood checked on a regular basis my doctor will sometimes change my dosage amounts or days at a moments notice. It is critical that my medication be taken in the right amounts at the right time and not missed. With all the stress I have been feeling due to my unexpected health problems it has been very easy to forget whether or not I have taken my pill or whether I took the right amount. But, with the MedCenter System to remind me I am able to keep on top of my health.
 
The Med Center system. This system emphasizes the "Date" rather than the "Day of the Week." The "Date" is located on each Pill Box and Pill Cavity, the visual display of the Clock as well as audibly during the alert messages. This repetition of the "Date" helps ensure proper medication compliance, even when the user is unsure whether it is Monday or Tuesday.

It may seem a little overwhelming at first but the MedCenter System is actually very easy to set up. You place your pills for the month into numbered removable pill boxes and program it to remind you when and what time to take your pills. It does all the work of reminding you. It has a very visible display that features the time, date, and day of the week and you can set up to four different daily alarms. My favorite feature of the system is the talking alarm. It literally tells you that it is now time to take you pill. The alarm will continue until you acknowledge that you have heard it. You remove the pill box take your pill and then turn the pill box over into the stand to show that the medication for that day has been taken. Genius! I am a pretty organized person in general, some may say a little OCD, and so I love the MedCenter System. I am feeling a little guilty now about taking what I intended to give to my stepdad so I may have to purchase one just for him. The MedCenter system also comes in a Traveler Weekly Pill Organizer making it great for storing and remembering to take your medication when you are out enjoying yourself.

Bed Buddy Review

Over the last three months I have been going through some health issues that have caused me some pain, swelling, and a lot of bed rest. Throughout this time Bed Buddy's products have been my best friends. Their At Home line which includes hot and cold therapy products with aromatherapy that are designed to soothe tired muscles, ease pain, and relieve stress are amazing. The lineup includes a Comfort Wrap, Foot Warmers and Relaxation Mask. Each are filled with 100% natural grains and provide heat therapy when warmed up in the microwave or become a cooling compress when chilled. They come in several colors and patterns and in several fragrances.

 

 

I received all three products for review and all three are still getting plenty of use. I prefer heat over cold so that is how I have been using my Bed Buddy's.  These get very hot when microwaved for about 1 minute and 30 seconds to 2 minutes so be sure to test the heat and get it to your liking. I found that 1 minute and 45 seconds was what I needed to get the right amount of heat therapy.

The Comfort Wrap is perfect for wrapping around your neck or shoulders when your muscles are feeling tense or soar. It is also great for laying on your stomach when you have a tummy ache. I even use it when I am feeling chilly! I wrap it around like a scarf and I immediately warm up.

The Foot Warmers are perfect for tired feet but I have mostly been using them to keep my cold feet warm and snugly in bed. The other day I was feeling pretty bad and in need of some rest. I put a Comfort Wrap around my shoulders and slipped on some Foot Warmers and I had the most peaceful and comfortable nap in a long time. I literally slept for 4 hours in the middle of the day! My husband had to come in and check on me because I was sleeping for so long.

The Relaxation Mask works wonders for a headache. Put it around your head and feel your headache disappear. I have not tried it as a sleep mask yet but I can imagine how relaxing it will be.

I and my family are so grateful that we got the opportunity to try these wonderful products by Carex Health Brands. Every one of us has been using these for different ailments at different times. I think everyone should own a Comfort Wrap, Foot Warmer and Relaxation Mask.

I love that it is not greasy and does not leave an oily feeling on my already oil prone skin. In fact I have noticed that my skin is less oily since I started using Sleep Doctor.
