Dentisse Natural Reflection Review and Giveaway

CLOSED
Winner- #23 pmj

Dentisse® Premium Oral Care Products were designed to be as natural as possible without sacrificing their superior properties.

Research shows that Dentisse® Natural Reflection™ produces the highest degree of polish available from any commercial toothpaste. It cleans and whitens teeth gently, thoroughly, and naturally. That’s because of its main ingredient, kaolin. This is a natural, white clay – one of Earth’s most abundant minerals. The kaolin in Dentisse comes from the southern United States and is purified and refined, making it a safe, effective cleaning and polishing agent.
After impurities are removed, the clay is heat-treated at high temperature. This causes thermal dehydration of its platelet-shaped particles, so their surfaces function more efficiently (on a microscopic scale) in cleaning and polishing tooth enamel.
Typical toothpastes, with their particles of silica, calcium carbonate or other abrasives, depend on the jagged particle edges to scrape away plaque and stains. But the kaolin in Dentisse provides platelets that slide across the tooth enamel, removing plaque and surface stains and polishing more gently and effectively than any other toothpaste on the market. Result? Teeth shine with maximum gloss, maximum luster.

First of all I want to say that I get the opportunity to review many products with this blog. My husband, Chris rarely uses these products unless they were specifically meant for him. For some reason he decided to try the Dentisse Natural Reflection Toothpaste I was given for review, he actually used it before I did! Immediately after using this toothpaste and without any prompting from me he told me how much he liked the new toothpaste I was reviewing. Let's just say I was taken by surprise as he doesn't usually give me an opinion on any of the products that enter our home unless I specifically ask him about them. This got me feeling very curious so of course I ran into the bathroom and brushed my teeth. Initially I didn't notice anything different then the usual toothpaste we use other then it had a nicer mintier taste. Later on that day Chris mentioned again  how he really liked this new toothpaste he also added that even hours after brushing his teeth still felt clean. I ran my tongue over my teeth and realized I had the same feeling. My teeth were smooth as if I had just brushed and this was after eating.

Fast forward three weeks later. We have both been using this toothpaste religiously and love it. My mouth feels fresher after brushing and cleaner throughout the day. I have also noticed since using Dentisse Natural Reflection Toothpaste that my teeth have less tartar buildup and Chris is still talking about how much he likes the toothpaste.

Dentisse Natural Reflection Toothpaste comes in both fluoride and non fluoride varieties. Other Dentisse products include an Oral Rinse and Lip Balm. The one drawback I have about this toothpaste, it's pretty pricey for an everyday toothpaste. At $16.99 it's about 5 times what I usually pay. Ouch. Still Dentisse claims that by brushing and rinsing with their products for just two weeks you will have;

  • noticeably shinier, whiter teeth

  • long-lasting fresh breath

  • less plaque and tartar buildup

  • a smoother, cleaner "mouth feel"

  • a more-radiant smile

  • And so far I have no reason not to believe them.

    Honest CocoaNova Review

Are you familiar with Honest beverages? Their product lineup includes Honest Tea, Honest Kids, Honest Ade and their newest drink Honest CocoaNova. CocoaNova starts off with cacao beans, the main ingredient in chocolate. These are brewed and created into a delicious guilt-free drink you can enjoy anytime. Each bottle of CocoaNova only contains 50 calories and 50mg of the antioxidant theobromine, which is naturally found in dark chocolate.

Honest CocoaNova comes in 3 flavors; Cherry CacaoMocha Cacao, and Mint Cacao.

I was given all three flavors to try and I was very eager to find out what they tasted like. CocoaNova taste to me like a chocolate and flavor infused tea. They are very light and do not have the rich cocoa taste I expected but more of a subtle chocolate flavor. My favorite of the three flavors was the Mocha, followed by Cherry and then Mint. These are very refreshing and taste best cold. Honest Cocoa Nova can be found at natural food stores and selected retailers nationwide. If you are a fan of Honest beverages I suggest you try their newest creation.

    TUMMY YUMMIES

My 3 year old daughter is always asking me for a snack. She wants crackers, gummies or yogurt.  First of all, I can't always take the time out to get her something.  I'm either cleaning, changing a diaper or busy doing something at the time.  Secondly, she always seems to want something that isn't healthy and I get tired of telling her no.  So I decided that if she had her own snack box that she could choose from, she would still feel like she was the one making the decision but she would be picking from the choices I left her.

My first snack box that I did was apples, carrots, blueberries and peanut butter.  It worked pretty well but I found that she was eating the peanut butter with a spoon and not using it as a dip.  Over the next two days though, she ate everything and she even shared it with her friend when she came over.  It was wonderful and I didn't have her complaining that she was hungry all the time.
It's good to give kids choices, but it's even better if we can give them choices that we approve of.

September is National Baby Safety Month

    Baby Safety
September is National Baby Safety Month and what's more important than baby's safety?  In our house we try to keep our little guy as safe as possible. Here are a few basic things you can do to keep your baby safe as well.

First:  We use Munchkin Easy Close Metal Gate on our stairs. Now that our little guy is crawling we need to keep him from taking a fall down the steps.  Also, my daughter is 3 and can use it with ease when she needs to go up and down the stairs.
Second:  As soon as your little one is sitting up and not using the lay down bath tubs, such as Safer Bather, you can get him into a bath seat such, as the Ultimate Safe and Soft Bath Seat. This is safer then putting your little one straight into the bath tub with out any support. The most important bath safety rule is NEVER LEAVE YOUR BABY ALONE IN THE BATH TUB.
Third:  Outlets are very close to our baby's eye level and they are learning to pick things up. We would like to keep them away from plugs but if they are in sight they should have some kind of plug cover over the outlet.
Fourth:  Furniture can be something that we forget about but there are a few things that can keep our little ones safe, such as Toddler Shield Table Pad, Anti Tip TV and Bedrails.
Fifth:  Keeping those little hands out of cabinets with Child Proof Cabinet Lock  is very important. We need to keep their little hands away from cleaning products, garbage bags and other hazardous things.
Here's a few more tips to keep your little ones safe:
    Chemicals and Household Toxins
There are about 80,000 chemicals in the marketplace today – more than enough to make parents who are concerned about chemicals pull out their hair. Simplify and pay attention to just 3 ways your child might be exposed.
    1)       What goes in the mouth. Choose clean food and drinks, and pay special attention to the plastics that go in the mouth, especially those used to store, heat, or serve food and drinks. Chemicals in the plastics can leach out and enter your child. Notice the recycling symbols on the bottoms of many plastics. Opt for symbols 1, 2, 4, or 5. Or choose brands like BornFree, where the entire line of toddler sippy cups, pacifiers, baby bottles and plastic water bottles are free from BPA, phthalates and PVC. Or skip plastic, and go with something like glass or stainless steel.
    2)       What goes on the skin. Chemicals in lotions and creams can be absorbed through the skin. We read the ingredients on food; it’s time to learn to read ingredient lists on skin products as well, and choose those you trust. Sunscreen is a great place to start. I prefer sunscreens that rely on minerals, like zinc or titanium, rather than relying on chemicals that might act as hormones in the body.
    3)       What goes in the nose. Clean air may seem overwhelming. After all, you don’t have much control over other people’s exhaust pipes and smokestacks. But the air that matters most is the air in your own home, where your child sleeps at night. Indoor air is usually more polluted than outdoor air, so you can often make a big difference just by opening the windows. Replace cleaning products that have harsh fumes or artificial fragrances (anything that says, “Use in a Well-Ventilated Space” probably isn’t good for your child). And you might consider houseplants or an air filter to help clean your air.
