Smile Brilliant Plaque High Lighters Review

 

Recently I was given the opportunity to try Smile Brilliant's  new Plaque Highlighters. Plaque Highlighters are plaque disclosing tablets that will up your teeth brushing game by revealing the spots on your teeth that need some extra brushing. You chew one tablet for approximately 30 seconds, swishing it around in your mouth then spit and rinse with water for 10 seconds. The Plaque Highlighters technology contain a temporary pink dye that will light up to identify areas with plaque and tartar build up. Then all you do is brush it away till your teeth are squeaky clean. 

I was intrigued with these when I heard about them. Do they actually work? I was also concerned that the tablets would have bad taste, did they? The answers are yes and no. After my first try of chewing and swishing the tablet in my mouth until it dissolved I was surprised by how it turned the inside of my mouth pink. It mostly highlighted areas in between my teeth. I wasn't surprised about this since plaque does a great job of hiding in between spaces and grooves. The tablet itself did not have a bad taste. It was a little sweet with just a hint of an aftertaste that did not bother me at all. Now it was time to pull out my toothbrush and brush away all the pink from my mouth. It took a bit of brushing to get it all off and I was a little disappointed when I saw that now my toothbrush bristles were stained pink. However, this was just temporary and my teeth and toothbrush were left sparkly clean after using Plaque High Lighters. They also have a kids version of Plaque High Lighters that I think kiddos would have a lot of fun with. They come in berry blast flavor and safe for children 5 and up. When I received this book I thought it was the perfect book for my artistic daughter whose specialty is watercolors. She loves expressing herself through this art  medium and she is also a foodie in training so it was a perfect match. After perusing the book she was inspired to create this watercolor of avocado toast. 

Taking some tips from the pages of Watercolor Snacks and her own imagination she came up with this art piece. She thinks this book is great and for a beginner and even someone with a little more experience in watercolors. I've asked her to cook me up some more watercolor treats and I can't wait to see them.

The nice thing is you are told before ordering what the theme is so you can choose to skip it if it doesn't sound like something you would like. The theme crate I received was Garden Party and including the following items:

This large insulated lunch cooler bag features Hello Kitty, Tuxedosam and Cinnamoroll in a gardening scene. I really like the size of this bag as I could fit an entire picnic lunch in it. 

This adorable half apron is my favorite item from the box, because I have a thing for cute aprons. 

Look at this t-shirt! Perfect spring/summer scene and color. Penelope snatched this one away from me. 

This water bottle, although sweet, is cheap plastic. I don't think I will be drinking from it, instead I will probably use it to store some school supplies in it. 

Finally this Chococat plush in his crown of spring flowers. He is purr-fect! 

I was really pleased with the items I received. The Hello Kitty and Friends crate costs $39.99 plus shipping, it's a pretty good value if you are a fan of Sanrio stuff.

Welch's New Fruit Snack Valentine's Day Heart Boxes

 

Valentine's Day is just a few days away but there is still time to head over to your local CVS or Walgreens and get a special treat for your kiddos.  A few weeks ago, tired of looking at our tan colored bedroom walls, my husband and I decided it was time to paint. After much deliberating on the color we decided on black. I know what you are thinking, really black? But, I had a vision. In my mind I was picturing black walls with some kind of cool accent wall to give it a bit of a modern feel. Maybe a geometric pattered wall paper or something with bright colors to give it some pop. Even though we still hadn't decided on what we were going to do, and despite all the naysayers. We went with it and painted our bedroom black. 

I actually think it looks pretty good. I've always liked things on the darker side and tend to stray from the norm. Still trying to figure out what we were going to do as far as an accent wall, fate sent me a little nudge by way of an email. I was contacted by a company called Photowall and asked if I would be interested in reviewing one of their products on Girly Girl. It was very hard to narrow it down to just one. Here are some of my faves that I had a hard time deciding on...

I really like this mid-century mod wallpaper. It really gives something extra to a clean and functional modern room. 

I also think this simple geometric grid would add a nice contrast to the black walls. 

I think these sepia poppies are beautiful and would look stunning on a bedroom wall. 

These are just a few of the designs that ended up in my shopping cart. After days of narrowing it down my husband I decided on this pattern.
