Green Virgin Soap Nut's Laundry Detergent Review

Green Virgin Products is a family-owned business created in 2009 to fulfill a specific need in the marketplace. Ken Marion, founder, lost his brother to cancer, and is a cancer survivor himself.  These experiences were the foundation of the Marion family’s vision—to provide high quality, non-toxic, eco-friendly products that actually work, and can save money compared to the toxic polluting products.

I was given the opportunity to review Green Virgin Products Soap Nuts Liquid. This all natural laundry detergent is derived the from the Chinese Soap Berry Tree. This tree produces berries that contain saponin, a natural soap that is safe for people and the environment. I was eager to try this product because both my husband and daughter have sensitive skin and I have to wash their clothes in dye and fragrance free detergents. You can find commercial brand detergents that are free of these things but sometimes I wonder what other toxic chemicals are hiding in the bottle. Soap Nuts Liquid contains 3 ingredients!

This laundry liquid works in HE washing machines and only takes 2 to 3 pumps to get your clothes clean. An 8oz. bottle will actually get 120 loads of laundry clean! At the sale price of $18.95 that's only .15 cents per wash! ( I did the math.)

Now the real question, does it work? It sure does! Soap Nuts Liquid gets your clothes clean and soft, even without fabric softener. I wish this stuff naturally smelled like berries that would make it the best laundry detergent ever. Unfortunately your clothes are left with no scent, but then again I am used to this because of my family's sensitive skin concerns. The one negative thing I will say about Soap Nuts Liquid is it is super sticky, so try not to spill any of it. ( Yes, I spilled some.)

Green Virgin Products also sells bags of Soap Nuts. These are actually the whole berry that has not been broken down into a liquid. They are 100% natural! You stick them in a drawstring bag add them to your wash and let the magic of Saponin clean your clothes.

Scentsy Fall Review

Can you believe the first day of fall is only 9 days away?! As you can see I am counting down the days to cooler weather, falling leaves and Holidays with family. I have mentioned this in the past but I am a "smell" person. Meaning I love things that smell good. That's the reason I love Scentsy products and decided to become a Scentsy consultant. I believe in their products and they smell sooo good! I am so excited that Scentsy fall scents are out and ready to be enjoyed.

Here is a list of Scentsy's 2014 Fall/ Winter scents. I have smelled all of them and let me tell you there are some yummy ones. My favorites are Frosted Ginger Cookie, Sno-Leil and Winter Pine. Frosted Ginger Cookie smells like one of those delicious cookies everyone starts baking come fall. Sno-Leil smells clean and sweet, it reminds me of snow fall and a hot cup of cocoa with lots of marshmallows. Winter Pine is one scent I will be burning come Christmas. Growing up we always had a live Christmas tree every year but a couple of years ago we decided to purchase an artificial tree, sigh. Winter Pine gives you that fresh pine tree scent without all the pine needle mess.

As you know I have shared my hair concerns regularly in this blog. It is thinning and flat and I am always looking for things that can help. While I can't say that I noticed some hair growth while using this shampoo, I did notice that there was less hair in the shower after washing. I would be willing to try the rest of the HairMax for Density collection. If the LaserComb wasn't so pricey I would be willing to try that as well. It sells for $495 but I suppose that's a bargain if it means not having to worry about a thinning head of hair. I am curious to know if anyone out there has tried this product?

It provides just a bit of shimmer that gives your skin a kind of sun kissed glow without looking too bronzy. It also works great as a contour for your cheek bones, highlighting them and making them stand out.
