You may be wondering what PIGGY PAINT is all about! Wonder no longer friends. It is a natural nail polish that was created with kids in mind! It is free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate and acetone... and made in the USA!  Piggy Paint sent me a sample of their Girls Rule nail polish and nail polish remover to try out!

 

It's actually a very decent sized bottle of polish! I think I was expecting a tiny little bottle like the Bon Bon nail polishes you can get for less than a buck. But this is a full sized bottle that is going to last us a long, long time! The price is comparible to OPI polishes and I think it is definitely worth it.

The first thing I did was open the polish remover and nail polish to take a big whiff! One of their biggest selling points is that they have no or low odor. I have to admit it is not toxic smelling like other polishes. There is a smell but it doesn't make me feel ill and it is definitely not strong.

Next, we grabbed some cotton balls to remove the old polish on my eldest's hands. Getting the polish off with Piggy Paint Polish Remover is a lot more difficult BUT I think the benefits definitely outweigh the cons here. I would recommend getting a little dish and soaking your nails in the solution because it will take you a very long time to soak one nail at a time with a cotton ball. Keep in mind it doesn't have the harsh chemicals that strip off nail polish and the top layers of your nail so it will take some soaking to get old polish off.

And then the fun part! We got to painting. I LOVE how the colors are bright, vibrant and beautiful. Piggy Paint didn't know this but PURPLE is my favorite color! Here is my daughter showing off her newly painted nails. She kept walking around the house saying how much she LOVED Piggy Paint! Notice how nice and bright the color is on her nails.

Our overall experience with Piggy Paint has been very positive. The only downsides would be that the nail polish doesn't last as long and that the polish remover isn't as effective. My girls' other polishes wear off just as much as this polish. And, like I said before, the benefits of using a natural product far outweigh the negatives. I would rather put on a safe nail polish that chips off in a day or two then to put on harsh chemicals that stain and ruin my daughters' nails. We are Piggy Paint fans now! We're throwing out our old polishes and replacing them with Piggy Paint!
